Lowell Open Studios & Arts Festival Art Purchase Voucher Drawing Details
The winner of the “Art Purchase Voucher” was drawn at 7:30 pm, during the Art League of Lowell monthly meeting on September 30th.

No purchase necessary. Obtain a drawing entry card by visiting any Lowell Open Studios & Arts Festival 2009 (“LOS&AF”) participant and asking for a drawing entry card (go to the 2009 Gallery page for a complete list of participating artists). Entry cards will also be handed out by LOS&AF representatives, throughout the months leading up to the LOS&AF weekend.
Save your drawing entry card until the LOS&AF weekend, September 26 & 27, 2009. Completely fill out the registration area on the back of the card and drop it in any official entry box, during the event. There will be numerous official entry boxes around the various LOS&AF locations. At 9:00 p.m. on 9/27/09, all cards will be collected by members of the board of the Arts League of Lowell (“ALL”), and placed in a sealed drawing bin.
At 5:00 p.m., on 9/28/09, at Van Gogh's Gear, 200 Middle St., Lowell, MA, an ALL board member will draw one (1) card from the sealed drawing bin. Any incomplete card, unofficial (including reproduced) card, or illegible card will be eliminated from the drawing and will not be considered a winner, even if it is drawn. If necessary, drawing of cards will continue until a complete, official, and legible card is drawn from the sealed drawing bin. All decisions of those conducting the drawing will be final.
The person listed on the winning card drawn will be notified by telephone and/or e-mail within 24 hours. The winner must claim his/her prize within thirty (30) days or the prize shall be considered forfeited by the first drawn winner and a second drawing will take place as described below. The prize will be an Art Purchase Voucher (“APV”), which shall be good for trade until 12/31/09 for up to $300.00 in value toward the advertised sale price for any artwork(s) created by any one artist who was a registered participant in LOS&AF. The APV may be combined with any other payment instrument in trade for any artwork which exceeds $300.00 in value. If the notified winner of the drawing does not reply by 5:00 p.m. on the 30th day, after the drawing (10/28/09), another name will be drawn from those entered.
The APV has no cash value and cannot be traded for cash. It shall only be good for trade, subject to the conditions described herein, for the remainder of the year 2009, after which point it shall expire regardless of whether it was ever claimed or used for trade by the drawn winner. All such trades must be memorialized by a written receipt of the trade bearing the date of the trade, the name of the drawn winner, a description of the traded artwork including its advertised sale price at the time of the trade, and the signature of the participating artist. A copy of the receipt must be retained by the participating artist.
Subject to the following conditions, the individual registered artist who trades his/her artwork(s) for the APV may redeem it within 30 days for up to $300.00 of the advertised sale price of the traded artwork(s). To redeem the APV, the participating artist must present to an LOS&AF official, both a) the orginal APV document and b) a copy of the above-described receipt memorializing the trade. Upon such presentation, the artist shall be provided with a check for up to a maximum of $300.00 of the advertised sale price of the traded artwork(s). Under no circumstances may the APV be redeemed after 1/31/10. Cashing of such check shall be final, and conclude the Lowell Open Studios & Arts Festival APV Drawing.
Members of the board of ALL and LOS&AF officials and employees shall be disqualified from entering the Lowell Open Studios & Arts Festival APVDrawing. Any such card drawn shall be considered an unofficial entry and, in such event, a subsequent card shall be drawn.
