Can Art be Defined?

If you ask the average person what is art, you will most likely hear that it is simply a piece of art that is displayed in a gallery. Some people would argue that this definition of art is too broad and may leave out some of the most important aspects of what makes a work of art. Some of these aspects include creativity, uniqueness, expression, structure, mood, meaning, visual effect, symbolism and time, but even if you leave out these aspects, the definition would still be very general.

The foundations of art are as follows: balance, movement, unity, balance, harmony, variation, contrast and pattern. The main elements of art are: texture, color, line, texture and color. In order to truly understand the foundation of art, you must first understand the different aspects of color. The four primary colors are red, green, blue and yellow, but there are many more shades of each of these colors.

Red is often associated with energy and passion. It is also often associated with romance. For this reason, red is often found in a painting of two lovers in a garden. Red is also seen in pictures of sunsets or fireworks, which is one of the reasons why red is so popular for children’s art.

Blue has a calming effect. It is also related to the sea and calm, refreshing waters. This is another reason why the color blue is used in children’s art. One of the most popular color schemes for a child is a blue ocean scene. Another popular color scheme is a blue sky with small clouds overhead. Blue is also associated with water and a blue sky, making it a perfect choice for a children’s painting. The best time to paint a blue sky is after dusk.

Contrast is another element of color that should not be forgotten when you are considering a painting for a child. Children enjoy contrasting colors. If you are trying to create a contrast between light and dark, try painting a picture in charcoal to give it a darker appearance than it would have if it were painted in oil paint.

Painting for a child involves using light, shade and depth to convey emotion. This is not always easy but a good idea for an artist, especially if he or she is starting out and learning how to paint.
